Responsibilities and challenges

We are looking for a Backend Software Developer to join our Cloud Platform team in Prague, Czechia. You will work hands-on with the development and evolution of DHI’s Cloud Platform, building reliable backend services that support digital solutions used worldwide.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Contribute to the development of scalable, reliable and secure cloud services
• Design, develop and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations that are part of our Cloud Platform
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code, following best practices
• Actively participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of the platform
• Collaborate closely with the rest of the engineering team as well as the product owner to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Support deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of services in production environments

Qualifications and personal skills 

We are looking for a motivated junior backend software developer with a solid technical foundation and a strong desire to learn and grow in a cloud platform environment.

Required:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience with backend software development (including internships, student jobs etc.)
• Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably in C# and .NET
• Familiarity with cloud concepts and an interest in working with Microsoft Azure
• Basic knowledge of databases and data structures
• Experience of version control systems
• Ability to write clear, maintainable code and willingness to learn best practices
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Desirable:

• Familiarity with time series processing.
• Familiarity with more Cloud Providers (GCP, AWS, etc.)
• Familiarity with spatial data.
• Familiarity with GIS systems (ESRI products, QGIS, or similar).
• Familiarity with Python.

Office location

You will be based in our office in Prague, the Czech Republic. We are working on a hybrid manner, which will allow you to work from home a few times per week.
