Senior Backend Developer – Projects (Sustainability / Water domain)

The Role 

Our team in the Czech Republic is responsible for the DHI Cloud Solution and part of DHI’s technology portfolio of Digital Solutions, and we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us. 

As a Solution Architect for DHI, you will be responsible for handling multiple projects locally and overseas (remotely). You will work in close collaboration with our other architects located in Australia and Denmark, and with our team in the Czech Republic.

As DHI is an international organisation with world class experts and strong stakeholders, you need to have excellent interpersonal and strong leadership skills, and be able to communicate progress, status and issues in a transparent manner, while providing pushback to leadership and stakeholders when necessary.  

We are looking for an experienced software development professional with strong analytics skills, oriented towards customer and product excellence.  

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Developing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based solutions.
• Optimizing storage, retrieval, and analysis of data.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define innovative solutions.
• Ensuring development best practices in cloud architecture and data management are followed.
• Development and bug fixing of our Cloud Services together with the team.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

• Proven experience as a Senior Developer working with cloud-based platforms.
• Proven experience in .NET technology, C# development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Information.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in Software Development and/or Information Technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Proficient skills in written and verbal English. 

Desirable

• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies, specifically AKS.
• Experience with Microservices Architectures.
• Familiarity with GDAL
• Familiarity with PostGIS
• Familiarity working with Time series optimized storage/querying
• Familiarity working with Spatial data
• In-Depth knowledge of Agile process and principles. 
• Familiarity with Python.
• Proficient knowledge of work organisation using systems such as Azure DevOps or JIRA.
