We are looking for a senior specialist to play a key role in our analytics team.

As a Senior Earth Observation Specialist

You will join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Earth Observation specialists solving challenges in both marine and terrestrial environments. Specifically, responsibilities could include:

• Working with our team to design and develop new EO-based products and services
• Use state-of-the art research, methods and technologies to solve challenging problems
• Prototyping and evaluating EO-based solutions
• Integrating satellite observations with hydrologic models
• Working closely with our talented back-end team to scale EO services 
• Leading technical aspects of projects, proposals and business development activities

As a primary technical advisor during project scoping, sales engagements, and client consultations you can take a shaping role in projects and see your work quickly make an impact for users and clients for real-world applications.

About you

We are a very diverse group of people. Background, origin, or gender never make a difference to us. We focus on your talent and personality. We expect that you have a strong and proven background in Earth Observation science and applications in industry and/or research. 

An ideal candidate will have:

• PhD degree + 3 years of practical working experience with Earth Observation, or MSc. with at least 6 years relevant work experience
• Expert knowledge and practical experience in one or preferably several EO technologies (optical, SAR, hyperspectral) 
• Sharp analytical mindset with deep knowledge in topics such as data wrangling, AI/ML, Computer Vision, Foundational Models, time series, etc.
• Excellent Python programming skills (xarray, numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, pyTorch, etc.)
• Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms an advantage, e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Earth Engine, openEO etc.
• Working knowledge of other key Earth Observation technologies including Data Cubes and STAC
• Innovative and curious mindset linking research and innovation to commercial services
• Expert domain knowledge in one or more aspects related to land and/or marine remote sensing
• Experience with project management, business development and client relations an advantage
• Excellent communication skills and proficient in English (our working language). Knowledge of Danish and Spanish/French an advantage
