We are on the lookout for an energetic, performance-driven Software Sales Manager with a proven track record in software sales to help us expand our Marine and Coast (M&C) product line in the UK market. This role is crucial in increasing our sales volume and acquiring new customers, while closely collaborating with internal teams to enhance our offerings and organize impactful local events.

Role Overview

As a Software Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan designed to meet and exceed sales targets. You will manage the entire sales process, from initial research and due diligence to meetings, presentations, and closing deals. Your ability to identify new sales opportunities through networking, social media, and events will be key to your success.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role. You will work with internal stakeholders, experts, and colleagues within M&C and other GBU´s to ensure opportunities progress smoothly through the sales cycle. Maintaining accurate sales pipeline data in Dynamics CRM, Maconomy, and other systems is essential to this process. Additionally, you will contribute to developing training and advisory opportunities beyond your own pipeline.

About you

Got a degree in hydraulic, environmental, or water engineering? Perfect! If you’ve paired that with some solid sales experience, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. Alternatively, if you’ve got a business administration degree and know the ins and outs of the water industry, we want to hear from you too!

You have 5-8 years of experience as a sales rep or sales manager, you’ve consistently smashed your targets and are ready for your next big challenge.

Your Skills

We need someone who is self-motivated, driven, goal oriented and bring energy and enthusiasm to everything you do. You are adaptable, unphased by change and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You have a sharp analytical mind, a knack for strategic sales planning, a deep understanding of the industry, and the ability to navigate it with ease. Your top-notch presentation skills allow you to influence stakeholders at any level.

Your key responsibilities

  • Sales strategy -> Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets.
  • Sales process management -> Oversee all sales activities, including research, meetings, presentations, quotes, and offers, ensuring customers recognize the value of our products.
  • Opportunity identification -> Proactively identify new sales opportunities through various channels, including networking, social media, and events.
  • Collaboration -> Work closely with internal teams to move sales opportunities through the cycle efficiently and effectively.
  • Data Management -> Ensure the accuracy and integrity of sales pipeline data in relevant systems.
  • Support and development -> Offer support and share knowledge with colleagues as needed, contributing to the overall growth and success of the team.
  • Customer Care coordination -> Collaborate with customer care to secure recurring sales, such as Service and Maintenance (SMA) and subscription renewals.

Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)

Your performance will be measured against several critical KPIs: Software order inflow, software revenue, new clients, and cross-selling opportunities. These metrics are of high importance as they directly impact the growth and success of our business. Your ability to drive these KPIs will be essential in meeting our strategic goals and achieving success in this role.

Key stakeholders

You will interact with a variety of stakeholders, including external clients, the Marine & Coast Sales Team, other GBUs (Water in Cities, Water Resources, Energy & Ports), Customer Care, and the Product Portfolio Managers.

Your location will be UK and you should expect occasionally travelling abroad.
