Wastewater Process Specialist

You will be part of DHI's WasteWater team currently consisting of 10 dedicated colleagues in Hørsholm and Aarhus organized within our global Water-In-Cities Business unit staffing about 200 people across more than 25 international offices.

In DHI's WasteWater Treatment team, we provide digital services based on in-depth domain knowledge in wastewater. Our digital services are supported by MIKE software products, which automate collection and use of data, models and processes in WWTPs. Finally, we also implement advanced real-time control of processes in WWTPs and collection systems. 

DHI works globally, and our team is currently working on exciting and innovative wastewater projects in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the USA and in India. Our international projects are carried out in close collaboration with DHI colleagues around the world. 

You will work as part of our project implementation teams where your role may span across a range of disciplines including project management, process specialist, data processing, data analytics and digital system configuration. 

Responsibilities and tasks

The tasks range widely and include among others:

  • Development and implementation of digital solutions at treatment plants including digital twins.
  • Assessment and modelling of processes as well as assessment of optimization options for treatment plants.
  • Development of advanced control strategies for treatment plant processes.
  • Participation in technology development and R&D projects often in collaboration with external partners.
  • Project management and participation in sales and proposal activities.

What we are looking for

  • You hold a MSc or PhD degree in engineering or similar relevant education.
  • You bring +5 years of relevant experience in advisory.
  • You possess deep expertise in biological and chemical treatment processes at WWTPs.
  • You have experience in process modelling (e.g. using WEST).
  • You are skilled in designing and implementing process control in WWTPs.
  • You have a flair for - and interest in working with implementation of digital solutions such as digital twins, and you may have touched on scripting for data processing and analytics – e.g. in Python.

As a person, you are proactive and dynamic and communicate openly with colleagues and collaboration partners with a special focus on delivering solutions that create value for our customers. You are eager to be part of and contribute to a team. You have excellent English language skills – Danish language skills is an advantage.

Place of work

You will be employed in DHI’s WWTP unit and preferably located in Aarhus or Hørsholm, Denmark. Location at one of DHI’s international offices may be an option.
