The Role
We’re looking for a Software Quality Assurance Lead to help shape how quality works in our SAAS applications.
This is a new role with real freedom to make an impact. You’ll assess how we currently build and deliver and maintain operational software services, decide what’s worth improving, and put practical changes in place. We’re looking for someone with energy, initiative, and confidence, who is comfortable operating independently and influencing teams through credibility rather than authority.
The focus is to assure our software engineering quality — improving testing, review practices, and delivery confidence — while keeping compliance and audit activities well managed in the background. You’ll work closely with software engineers to embed quality into everyday development, not layer it on as process.
This role is open to candidates with the right to live and work in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Software Engineering Quality & Developer Enablement
- Partner with software engineering teams to continuously improve how software is designed, tested, reviewed, and delivered.
- Strengthen automated testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end) across the software stack.
- Improve code review practices and quality signals that support fast, confident delivery.
- Help teams identify recurring software quality issues and address root causes.
- Introduce quality guardrails in CI/CD pipelines that support speed rather than restrict it.
Balancing Quality and Momentum
- Apply quality standards in a way that supports experimentation and iteration in software delivery.
- Help teams make informed trade-offs between speed, risk, and robustness.
- Promote a shared understanding of what “good enough” means at different stages of software development.
- Adapt software quality practices as the organisation grows and changes.
Compliance Oversight & Audit Support
- Provide oversight for information security and quality compliance as it relates to software development.
- Coordinate and manage audit processes, including preparation, evidence review, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance requirements align with existing software engineering workflows.
- Maintain audit readiness through good systems, automation, and clear ownership.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- 5-10 years' experience in a senior software quality assurance role.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and delivery pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience improving software quality, testing approaches, and engineering standards.
- Ability to influence software engineers through collaboration and practical guidance.
- Energetic and proactive with confident communication skills.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a scale-up environment where priorities evolve.
- Proven ISO 27001 experience, particularly in audit management and ongoing compliance oversight.
Desirable (Preferred but not Required):
- Background in software engineering, DevOps, or test automation.
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience in SaaS, cloud-native, or security-sensitive software environments.
- Exposure to additional standards such as ISO 9001 or SOC 2.
What We Offer
- Work in an interesting and evolving domain, solving real problems with real-world impact.
- Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
- A culture of learning and development, with clear paths for career progression.
- The chance to work alongside passionate and talented colleagues from around the world.
Office Location
You will be based in our modern office in Gold Coast.
